My first time on a bike yz250f

My first bike was a 1989 kdx 200 and I still ride it. I've ridden newer and faster bikes but the kdx is still my favorite. Great beginner bike and still a great bike when you become more experienced.

I know this is an old video and im glad the original poster rode it well for his first time. But i do not reccomend a yz250 for a first bike lol, that thing is way to twitchy and the risk of people accidently dumping the clutch and power wheeling is pretty high. I would reccomend a xt250 which is much more mild and just as capable for most people to learn to get good on.

Big, big power, as long as you can handle the way, but just like anything, there’s a learning curve and you get used to it. I’m trying to decide on a 250 F Honda or a slightly used Yamaha YZ 250 F just for light writing. I’m 37, 200 lbs 5’7”. A little bit of experience with a 140 on a tight, tight trail and a few other bikes. Getting used to the weight was my deal at first but I learned on a very tight wooded area and never got to open it up. So fast.

I remember the first time I hopped on a crf250 it was crazy I thought it was going to be like my 125 but nope it was twitchy as hell and it fucking flew😂

Ive had several like yours from 2003-2006, but you should try the ones thats from 2015, riding them on woops, feels like NATHING .

Way better then my first time. I was on a 2 stroke YZ 85 and I whiskey throttled, almost hit the garage haha

i got my 2010 yz250f at 11. just a heads up there is a squience to starting it you have do a tiny little kick but not all of the way down just one little kick then bring the kick start up and give it a full kick and it will start first kick almost every time.

and never give it gas while it is not started because everytime you twist the throttle it will shoot 12 feet of gas wich is alot of gas into the carb. but have fun with it.
