If you travel to the past, that past becomes your future. You create a new timeline.

So by travelling to 1931 they should have created a new timeline, one where they set Koenig up with Enoch, which may have led to Daniel and Peggy not being together in this third reality, as opposed to the first reality where she is with him and the second where she is with Steve.

See, now, for all those worrying this will end badly for PeggySous shippers, Daniel's reaction doesn't necessarily mean they're no longer together. This may not be the Endgame timeline. (I say this as a diehard Steggy) What if it's a husband, annoyed with his wife pulling rank& taking over his investigation?
Then again, I have to agree with those who think this is a misdirect& Jemma is getting a chance to impersonate her idol. Though I hope it's not& we get to see the real deal, Director Carter herself.
