Guy plays one complete season and is awarded largest QB contract? His agents rule!

Tom Clements worked with Farve and developed both Arod and Jlove. He came out of retirement to help Jordan. He deserves a ton of credit he hardly gets

They don't pay qbs based on what they've currently achieved. They pay them based on how good they think they will be in the (near) future. The Packers believe that Love will be yet another great qb for the Packers. We shall see.
As a Cowboy hater, I'm loving this and I hope that they sign Dak to a massive contract because I'd hate to risk the 'boys ruining their 'great in the regular season and crapping the bed in the playoffs' thing they got going. That's like one of the best parts of the season!
Every time I hear Jerry Jones speak I wonder how in the world this guy became a billionaire.

He's only started for one year, but he's been in the building, he's a familiar commodity to LaFluer and Gutey. Unthinkable, I was waiting all offseason for this signing. He's still wildly young and showed what we needed to see last year, all with almost nothing but rookie/ 1year skill position players surrounding him

The contract is a steal. He has a $12 million dollar salary this year. The extension is $220 mil from 2025 through 2028. Math: $12 mil + $220 mil divided by 5 years is $46.4 AAV. It's great for both parties.

Man... these teams are going to absolutely regret most of these "record breaking" contracts.

As a life long GB fan I think it is a touch high for him only playing the one season under center but he is on the right path so far. Time will tell but an over all young team that can develop together and at the least put the division on notice for years to come

Roger Staubach was 27 when he joined the Cowboys! That turned out well!

If the NFL is going to reset the market every time a quarterback who hasn't done anything (and probably won't) comes up for negotiation, you can kiss FOX and CBS goodbye and get ready for a full-subscription TV package.

Personally i would say the first development QB is Brett Farve. He sat behind starters for 4 years and then whipped out to be one of the best.

My Dad was a cowboys fan, I asked him why he's not anymore. His answer, "Jerry Jones."

That $220 million needs to be invested into the S&P 500 in Big Boy Blue Chips, The Mag 7, SERV, Navidia, Broadcom, FTEC, SPLG, REITS, real estate properties. Open businesses dealing with football to take advantage of all of the tax advantages to shelter his current and future income. Hire two good CPA's to help watch over each other while watching over his empire; not Pookie and Ray Ray...

That’s a bold move hopefully it pays off.

I was hoping for a contract extension (believe me, that's saying something), growing up in Wisconsin, but he comes nowhere NEAR close to "deserving" to be the highest paid!

Love is better than Dak, Tua and Lawrence.

Love didn't "dominate for a season." He dominated for 8 games in 2023. The first half of 2023, people were talking about how boring and vanilla the Packers' offense was. How predictable. I am a Vikings fan. The Packers and Love didn't kill us. Our defense is bottom-12 in the NFL. this guy is not Mahomes.

You're correct when you say "would never imagine" because Love wasn't even on my radar to get signed yet.

Well that tells me that they think they can win right away because after a few years they can't afford to pay anyone but rookies
