They don't pay qbs based on what they've currently achieved. They pay them based on how good they think they will be in the (near) future. The Packers believe that Love will be yet another great qb for the Packers. We shall see.
As a Cowboy hater, I'm loving this and I hope that they sign Dak to a massive contract because I'd hate to risk the 'boys ruining their 'great in the regular season and crapping the bed in the playoffs' thing they got going. That's like one of the best parts of the season!

He's only started for one year, but he's been in the building, he's a familiar commodity to LaFluer and Gutey. Unthinkable, I was waiting all offseason for this signing. The contract is a steal. He has a $12 million dollar salary this year. The extension is $220 mil from 2025 through 2028. Math: $12 mil + $220 mil divided by 5 years is $46.4 AAV. It's great for both parties.

As a life long GB fan I think it is a touch high for him only playing the one season under center but he is on the right path so far. Time will tell but an over all young team that can develop together and at the least put the division on notice for years to come
