In this video I show you how to set up the Unifi Dream Router

As well as the set-up I take advantage of the Unifi Dream Router's inbuilt PoE ports to add 2 x Unifi Lite 6 Access Points.

The set-up is easy and doesn't take long at all.

I hope you find this video useful. If you have any questions on this video please let me know in the comments and don't forget subscribe to the channel!

Absolutely fantastic video - very many thanks indeed. I currently have a Virgin Hub 3 connected to a switch and a Unifi UAP-AC-LR upstairs and a UAP-AC-M outdoors. The Unifi ACs are on a different network to the virgin hub and I could never figure out how to get them all on the same. Could the Dream Router be the answer? You have made it look very simple but in my hands its likely to be much more complicated!

Great video, I have an outdoor office (approx 17m away from main building and router) can I position an AP in the office?

plugged in 3 Wireless Access Points to its LAN ports (2 of them are U6-LR and 1 U6-Lite), but unable to power them ON. All the ports and cables are known well and tested. Can you tell me what will be the reason?

I bought the se model as didn’t want to be held back from adding more items. Can I just link my fibre optic rsj45 into the udm se ?

Great video, thank you.
I'm torn between going down the UDR/U6 route, or trying a mesh network (such as Eero).

My house spans 4 floors, I'm having ethernet run to the attic and a couple of other locations (so pleased the UDR is POE enabled), and the setup aspect is great.
Due to the length and size of the property, I was considering one AP further back on the ground floor, and an AP towards the front of the house on Floor 1, which would serve the attic and theoretically should cover the whole house, with exception to reaching the garden (this is where I may add a third AP later, from one connecting in the furthest bedroom.

Or, would you recommend the Mesh setup?
