Subbing Henry at half time after scoring a goal in UCL as a 1st year coach was more about sending a message to his team that indiscipline will not be tolerated regardless of the name on the back of the shirt…fall in line or get out. In part this was part of the issue with why Ibra didn’t work out at Barca..pep wanted him on the wing (kinda like Henry) so he wouldn’t clog the middle and give freedom/room for Messi and co to dribble/pass through defenses..ibra felt he was better at traditional #9 and so he was removed eventually…fall in line or get out.
