I'll take too many buttons over an even more dangerous touch-screen.

Great video and very informative! The 4.2S Diesel responds very well to remapping, with 720lb/ft easily achievable and well within limits. This will give the petrol turbo a run for its money and return much better mpg. Servicing parts, if using quality aftermarket parts (remember that Porsche do not make their own service parts, just rebrand other manufacturer's supplied parts) are not overly expensive. The elephant in the room with 958 Cayenne's in general is slipping transfer boxes. The Porsche recommended transfer box fluid is not up to scratch for the change intervals recommended and the location of the breather pipe on earlier models allows the ingress of water. Change your transfer fluid every 2 years using Ravenol DTF-1 transfer fluid (don't over torque the drain and fill bolts). An easy DIY job. The other potential issue is blocked firewall and sunroof drains causing ingress of water under front carpets and spare wheel aperture. Ensure that these are kept unblocked and remove those stupid star shaped rubber drainage bungs (under front wheel arch liners). The 4.2 S diesel is very underrated and much better than the 'run of the mill' 3.0 litre diesel imo. As far as mods go, if your Cayenne 958 does not have Carplay or Android Auto there is an aftermarket mod available, which addresses this shortfall, whilst retaining your PCM unit. Don't get hung up on using Porsche Approved tyres. I have Michelin Cross Climates fitted to mine, which are excellent, all year non Porsche approved tyres, Finally, if your Cayenne needs replacement parts, many are shared with the VW Touareg and can be obtained significantly cheaper from VW / Audi Group parts suppliers such as TPS.

Parking on double yellows outside Harvey Nichols - as long as they've got their hazards lights on it's fine !!

Couldn't see myself buying one of these but your video makes a Cayenne sound an interesting and left field proposition. Surprised at the prices expected them to be far more as its a Porsche! I particularly like your videos of interesting cars like this that may be a few years old but can be had for similar money to a new/nearly new boring hatchback - keep em coming!

After driving the v8 diesel I couldn't believe the amount of pull it has. Fantastic machine.

I was hoping you would give us a demo of those expensive sounding parking sensors, I'm curious now.
Excellent vid.

Absolutely bang on review! From a Range Rover owner, who comes from a family of Range Rover owners, we welcomed a MK2 Cayenne V8 diesel into the stable earlier this year and it has been nothing but astonishing! I would throw my hat into the ring and say that there is nothing that a RR Tdv8 does that a Cayenne V8D can't do better.... @ me if you will!

As a child walking to school I'd always look inside interesting cars. The more buttons the more I was impressed. This car would have me captivated.

My business partner has one of these and I have the same Range as you. As much as I love his car when I'm in it, (and the torque from that Cayenne S Diesel engine) the Range just seems far more special. They just look more elegant and imposing when they drive past you in the street and they just look much classier and, well ..."special".
