LYRICS: "Venus"

Hey, Venus
Oh, Venus

Venus, if you will
Please send a little
Girl for me to thrill
A girl who wants my
Kisses and my arms
A girl with all
The charms of you

Venus, make her fair
A lovely girl with
Sunlight in her hair
And take the brightest
Stars up in the skies
And place them in
Her eyes for me

Venus, goddess of
Love that you are
Surely the things I ask
Can't be too great a task

Venus, if you do
I promise that I
Always will be true
I'll give her all the
Love I have to give
As long as we
Both shall live

Venus, goddess of
Love that you are
Surely the things I ask
Can't be too great a task

Venus if you do
I promise that I
Always will be true
I'll give her all the
Love I have to give
As long as we
Both shall live

Hey, Venus
Oh, Venus
Make my wish come true!

LYRICS: "You Are Mine"

You are mine, haven't I told you so?
You are mine, even the angels know
I thought you knew, it's
Only you, yes, you are mine

I loved you the first
Time that we met
Then I knew that
I could not forget
All that we share, how much
I care for you

Now I may not be a poet
Who can tell his
Love with words
But I'm sure my
Heart will show it

That I am asking you
To be my wife
Love me eternally
And be my life
Please be a part of
Me then I'll possess
Life's happiness
When you are mine

Be my wife
Love me eternally
And be my life
Please be a part of
Me then I'll possess
Life's happiness
When you are mine
When you are mine!

Frankie Avalon - Francis Thomas Avallone, September 18, 1940, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, His mother (Maria) was from Sicily & His father (Nicola Avallone) was a butcher from Naples in Campania, Italy. So loved by Italian Americans (actor, singer, and former teen idol) Frankie Avalon had a genuine musical background to go along with his charming boy looks, and it was his talent that allowed him to succeed where others failed. Frankie was named “King of Song” by the Disk Jockey’s Association Selection in 1959.

* The vocal harmony groups of the late 1950s and early 1960s, later known as “doo-wop groups,” were rock and roll’s most significant form of urban expression. Created and developed to its highest level by African-American youth, Doo-Wop was soon adopted by Italian-American teenagers living in city neighborhoods who came in contact with this musical form through radio, records, stage shows, and street performances. By fusing this African-American music with their own rich Italian-American musical and cultural heritage, the Italian-American groups were able to produce their own version of Doo-Wop, which was much more than mere imitation. *
