Wed, Apr 5th, 2023 - BGVFD extrication

This is a video of an extrication of a driver following a driver-side impact with a tree. The vehicle was a 2008 Lexus. The extrication took approximately 50 minutes, and this video captured 20 minutes of the operation. Emergency responders included the Beech Grove (TX) Volunteer Fire Department, Jasper County (TX) Sheriff's Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and a crew from Jasper Towing & Recovery assisted by pulling the car away from the tree. The driver, a 21-year-old female, survived the crash, although she suffered catastrophic injuries.

Even though this video gave me anxiety it came as a reminder that I am one of the lucky ones. Thankful for my life being spared 23 yrs ago in an accident that disabled me. I am grateful to the ones that cut me from the car & all the ones who took care of me throughout the long journey to regain my mobility. I hope this girl is as fortunate as I have been.

Dymi went on to say “…no more surgeries. I am at home and recovering. I had a broken collarbone, a broken femur, and my hip was fractured in 3 places and I had a little internal bleeding”.

I loved watching everyone working ad a team to rescue that woman. Her screams alone have me in tears. I can only imagine the pain she is in. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Britton, who goes by the nickname “Dymi Rai Rai”, recently sent a message to Beech Grove Fire Chief Jamie Gunter and he has shared it with KJAS. Dymi wrote “Hey, just a little update. I’m doing a lot better. I just wanted to thank each and everyone of you guys for helping me…”.

So thankful she’s doing better! It was heavy rain storm and she hydroplaned into the trees.

This was just amazing to watch! God Bless ALL these people. They did an absolute amazing job. This young lady got herself extremely lodged in there. Has there been any update on her condition? What her injuries were?

Hats off to Gunter and the others. What a difficult job! The Jaws Of Life is a wonderful invention. Looks really heavy. Hope the young woman heals well. Condolences to her family who must be pretty upset right now. Thank God she survived.

I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for u all . God bless each and every one of u.
