So you've curious about doing a Calculus focused math internal assessment. Cool. I've got you covered. Most of us have not had experience writing an essay in math class, so we're learning a new skill.

First, let's figure out what you should and should not include in your Calculus based internal assessment. That's what this video will cover for you. If you're not familiar with all the ideas in this video, check out my various playlists on the different math topics to help you:

These ideas should be applicable for either SL AA or SL AI and even has a lot of potential to help my Higher Level IB Math friends out there.

It's not an easy process to write a good IA. There is a lot to consider to make it complete, clear and concise. But if this was helpful, let me know in the comments below.

If you think you need to go back to the drawing board for your idea after watching this video, check out my idea generating video:

If you're wondering about other, more general things you need to consider when writing your IA, check out this video:

"Optimization of the surface area of various heavy bag designs to minimize material use and costs for gyms" would you say this is a good IA. I might even use volume of revolution to find SA of more complexed shaped heavy bags(angled heavy bag). Ive been training boxing, mma, muay thai since i was a kid and my grandfather owns a boxing gym so the personal engagement is definitely there. Thanks!

Hi, I am currently writing my HL AA IA about formula 1 and I am comparing cornering speeds of 2 drivers by finding maximum acceleration minimum speed etc.
I’ve sampled 100 points for each driver from a comparison video with speeds and I’m trying to fit a function into the points in geogebra. My teacher disliked the idea and advices to use Lagrange interpolation and newton’s approximation to present the functions but I’m not convinced and I’m stuck… and thank you for the videos they’re really helpful
