Lecture on Operational Amplifiers AND Its Applications " , by Sheetal Nagar , Assistant Professor, Department of ECE , IIMT College of Engineering ,Greater Noida

An operational amplifier (op-amp) is an integrated circuit (IC) that amplifies the difference
in voltage between two inputs and produces a single-ended voltage output. Op-amps are used
in a variety of applications, including:
Amplifying input signals: Op-amps are often used to amplify weak analog signals from
sensors in IoT devices and home appliances.
Eliminating noise from input signals: Op-amps can reject common-mode noise, which is a
problem in noisy environments.
Performing arithmetical operations: Op-amps were originally developed to perform
arithmetic operations.
Signal synthesis: Op-amps can be used for signal synthesis.
Op-amps are usually connected to other circuits and are not used alone. They have two high-
impedance inputs and one low-impedance output port. The inverting input is marked with a
minus (-) sign and the non-inverting input is marked with a plus (+) sign.
