Cheops: Europe's exoplanet mission

ESA’s first mission dedicated to investigating planets outside our solar system is scheduled for launch on a Soyuz rocket from the European spaceport in French Guiana on 17 December 2019.

Cheops – Characterising ExOPlanet Satellite – will study known exoplanets that are orbiting bright stars. The aim is to obtain detailed information about these planets to find out more about their composition and internal structure.

The mission is a partnership between ESA and Switzerland with additional contributions from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

De certeza que a Cheops vai dar jus ao nome que lhe foi posto!! Ainda vai surpreender com um planeta extra solar cheio de vida alienígena e poderá ser portadora de algum transeunte...Vai começar uma missão e que nos resta desejar uma missão cheia de sucesso! Há vida para além da Terra!? Será que somos os únicos neste infinito que é o Universo…somos os únicos seres inteligentes?
Existir ou não existir … eis a questão… mas enquanto houver a dúvida … a interrogação mantém-se? Eu fico na dúvida … existir outra galáxia noutra dimensão com outros seres …
No entanto … há certos retratos sobre Extra Terrestres que intrigam qualquer um … como pinturas rupestres … onde já se pintavam objectos … rudimentares mas muito perceptivos … também já na Idade Média quadros pintados de pintores com referência a Ovnis…
