EVGA 3090 XC3 repad with GPURisers.com 20W/mk Thermal Pad

In this video i used the 2mm thermal pads to repab only the vram on the 3090 XC3 GPU. The core temp got to 70-73 deg and the hash rate dropped on hiveos. After i repadded it the temp on the core dropped 49 deg. The mem junction temp was not measured before on Hiveos but after the repad using HWiNFO it was down to 88 deg.

So confused... You repadded because it was at 70 c? And then the repad went to 86c? And then you went to repad again not using the GPU risers pads and then the screen goes black? So worse results and then no results?

Hey great video and awesome stop motion! I wasn’t so lucky with my temps. I purchased the same pads and followed the video and there was no change… Maybe a little worse temps… i didn’t beak the card so that was a plus :)

Thanks for the video! I am about to start working on replacing the thermal pads on various Geforce RTX 3090 of different brands: MSI, Asus, Palit, Gigabyte...
I would like to make sure that the thickness of the pads will be right for those cards, considering that they come from different brands. I read online that (1, 5mm) is good enough for both sides of the card. What do you recommend?

I have to say though if you do the backside, you will drop temps another 8-10c on mem! Just have to remove backplate.
