INSTRUCTIONS HERE!

This video will show you how to lower the ride height by about 16mm without using aftermarket springs. The video is a Series III front end which may be slightly different from Series I and II.

Simply lower the spring down, remove the shims and put it back together. (THE SPRINGS DO NOT NEED TO COME RIGHT OUT, JUST ENOUGH TO GET HOLD OF THE SHIMS AND SLIDE THEM OUT).

If there are lower shims also, then you will need to drop the spring out (Only takes a minute or two)

METHOD:

1: Undo the 2 x nuts (closest to tyre) holding the front shock plates
2: One by one, replace the spring pan bolts with a 3/8 UNF threaded rod, nuts and washers
(DO NOT TAKE THEM ALL OUT AT ONCE OTHERWISE THE SPRING WILL EXPLODE!)

3: 3/8 UNF rod to be cut to 225mm in length
4: Put 1 x 3/8 UNF nut and washer on the rod first before inserting into lower wishbone holes
5: Once all 4 x rods are wound into the lower wishbone, you can start to lower the spring evenly
6: Make a 250mm extension socket that will fit the 3/8 UNF nuts (welded to a tube)
7: Use a drill to wind each nut off keeping the plate reasonably straight & even
8: Once the nuts have been released down to about 200mm the spring should be loose
9: Reach in and remove the upper 3mm (1/8 inch) nylon shims
10: Check also for lower shims as this may allow you to lower the car a bit further (some jags have 2 x uper shims and 2 x lower shims)
11: Reverse the process and wind it back into place.
12: Each 3mm (1/8 inch) shim (added or removed) will change the ride height by about 8mm (5/16 inch) at the tyre edge.
