From Brett Yormark's Office: Big 12 Makes An Official Statement on Renaming, Rebranding the League

The Big 12 Conference is a collegiate athletic conference in the United States that primarily consists of universities located in the central United States. As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, the Big 12 Conference included ten member institutions. However, conference alignments in college sports can change over time due to realignment and expansion, so it's possible that the conference's composition may have changed since then.

As of 2021, the Big 12 Conference members were:

Baylor University
Iowa State University
University of Kansas
Kansas State University
University of Oklahoma
Oklahoma State University
Texas Christian University (TCU)
University of Texas at Austin
Texas Tech University
West Virginia University
These universities compete in various sports, including football, basketball, and many others, at the NCAA Division I level. The Big 12 Conference is known for its competitive athletics programs and has had success in both football and basketball.

Please note that the composition of athletic conferences can change due to universities changing affiliations, so it's a good idea to verify the current membership of the Big 12 Conference if you're looking for up-to-date information.

We need to think bigger and better. Therefore I propose the Humongous 16.

How about bringing back the SWC? The Southwestern Conference refresh.

I like currently the Big 16, with a Logo of B16, and eventually if they add 4 from the ACC, the Big 20, with a logo of XBIGX, so the two "X' bookends represent the "20" Teams...

I think the Big 16 would be a better bet.

I would be okay with rebranding our conference as the Big 16. Years ago, IIRC, the Big 12 bought the rights to the Big 14 and Big 16 names. Of course, it costs money to switch logos to the Big 16 and with the speed at which realignment is happening, it might be good to stay with the Big 12 for now.

“12” is a reference to the fans in football, that could be the new meaning of BigXII… but that only works for football.

I would like it to go back to the Southwest Conference. A nice bookend to the Southeast Conference. The name has a lot of history and would bring a lot of publicity. Numbers don’t mean any more than geography these days though. They could go for a more appropriate name like the Mid-PAC 😂

So dumb. 16 teams possibly more but the Big-12 leadership does not want to rebrand! That is the issue with putting a number in the name. So its the Big-12 and Small-4. Who are thought to be the Small-4?

Big XVIII. Add Memphis for a Cincy or WVU rival and USF for a UCF rival and call it good.
