I think this would make a cute little girl's quilt done up in pastels and make a pillow sham out of 6 of the X blocks with a ruffle that matches the outer border of the quilt. It's too pretty to dedicate to all my X's, lol.

I am new to quilting and have a huge list of quilts I'd like to make. I've been wanting to find an easy pattern to do with some Christmas fabric. When I saw this tutorial, I knew it would look really nice. When the Town Square Layer Cake by Moda Fabrics went on sale, I had to get it. I'd been eying this fabric for a while. Now that it has come in, I can't bear to cut up that one beautiful scene square, but I definitely want to incorporate it into my quilt. Do you have any suggestions for a pattern that can highlight that scene square? It can be a wall hanging or a bed quilt. I'm just not experienced enough yet to know what would make a nice quilt.

Jenny, I made a Oklahoma Twister block quilt years ago that my girls fight over, I have since had to put it up because it's been so loved I'm afraid to continue using it. I want to make more but I just know there's a simpler way! Maybe you can figure one out? The original pattern called for tons of 2 1/2 inch squares and half square triangles to make the block, I just know you can figure out a faster method!

I love this simple design... so much more interesting because the 'X' blocks appear set 'on point'. This will look especially lovely using a fabric collection with small prints and good saturated colour that provides a strong contrast with the background fabric like perhaps some batiks, or a Kaffe Fassett collection, or even solids! Can't wait to make this one, although am already thinking for an even more modern feel, interspersing an 'O' block here and there throughout the quilt for some asymmetry. Thanks for another great Quilt design idea MSQC Team!! ~Diana from Toronto
