I have seen people saying that Calcharo is hard to play, and I agree. You will get hit a lot if you try to build his gauge and spam charge attacks nonstop.

Most of the guides I see online only talk about echo builds, weapon options, basic how-to-plays, or sample rotations that will most likely get you killed in a real boss fight. This probably contributes quite a bit to the consensus that Calcharo is mid (ngl he kinda is but cmon bro he's literally Sepiroth at home)

Once you realize that Calcharo's skills and charged attacks are not meant to be spammed mindlessly, playing Calcharo will become easier. The short timing window between his skill casts allows for mid-combo dodging and repositioning, so mixing in dodges here and there can increase his survivability by a lot.

One of the ways to parry with him is to parry with na2 which is a wide swing from left to right instead of na1 which is a short thrust at your right. I found more consistency doing that.

When Yinlin banner drop parrying gonna be even harder since there will be no sword user (Yinlin, Calcharo, Verina/Baizhi), currently my party has Danjin so parrying is a breeze, damn... I wish there's a sword user that can heal, alternatively I have jianxin but I don't really want to play her since Verina support is broken good

I think the biggest reason people want to attack as fast as possible is trying to get 3 death messengers in each ult

Great video for basic movement and telling people to prioritize dodging and not getting hit over trying to do a combo, but spamming his E ability 3 times in a row is bad as you won't get the buff from is FORTE, you should be doing Basic > Skill > Basic > Skill > Basic > Basic > Skill, other than that the video was great.
