In Italy we actually put between each layer of ragù - a layer of béchamel and grated parmigiano. This in the video is the southern Italian version, but lasagna is from Bologna, in northern Italy

This looks like a tasty Italian-American lasagna. I’ve been to Italy and had a traditional lasagna made by a retired chef, who happened to have cooked for 3 different Popes. She made the lasagna with bolognese, bechamel, and freshly grated parmesan. And she made the pasta fresh and didn’t use too much parmesan because traditional lasagna doesn’t have a lot of cheese. It was the most delicious lasagna I have ever had and I have made it only this way ever since.
