Listening to this again a very good effort by Hans Zimmer & Benjamin Wallfisch and don't get me wrong, I love it and a homage to Vangelis. However as a composer myself, I miss the heart and soul of the creator, and I have listened over and over. The score is mathematical, something Vangelis did not have and why he was a genius, one of a kind. Its a shame but I couldn't do any better, I'm sure Hans and Ben, well know this. In any case a beauty of a score x

I think that K lying on the steps, snow falling as he takes his last breaths knowing he became human with his last act of bringing Deckard and his daughter together is a direct and beautifully homaged scene of Roy becoming human as he sits in the rain after saving Deckards life and that's why the music is the same in both.
I know that's obvious to most but to me it wasn't the first time I watched 2049.
Besides The Godfather II, this is the best sequel to any movie I ever saw.
It's rare that the sequel is as as good as the original but in this case it definitely is.
In the end, Deckard spent his career "retiring" replicates and in both movies its those replicants that he hunted who saved his life. Even Rachel saved his life by giving him love and beauty he only dreamed about.
The only thing I wish was that the wooden horse was a unicorn instead.
I'm not sure why it wasn't but that would have been absolutely perfect to me.
Great story, great atmosphere and great music. Classic.

So 100% on the level, when this started playing as K/Joe slowly sat on the stairs, I got teary eyed. I don't normally get teary eyed in movies. I think part of it was that I had been sold on the story and its characters so I wanted to see him make it. Part of me was just jazzed they used this song from the end of the OG Bladerunner. And then the rest of me realized *why* they were using it.

love Zimmer he is one of the best film composers out there if not the best, but no one should try to re-create the original it was truly epic.

K selflessly sacrificing himself at the end for the greater good of Deckard and his daughter made him more human than he could've ever achieved any other way. Such a bitter sweet ending. Perfect sequel that in my opinion somehow managed to even surpass the original.
