Instead of focusing their efforts on reclaiming New York, Miami, Seattle & other key coastal cities from rebellions. By May the conflict reached its highest death toll, fueling civil unrest.

In the summer, rumors of gold discovered near the small town of Bacoachi spread out of the Sonora region. Although it is known for being located in cartel territory, many forego their fears in search of riches.

The morning of October 15th, a company of Elite US Marines stationed in the region were tasked with escorting a group of researchers to investigate the source of this new gold rush.
