HAZBIN HOTEL ANIMATIC - I Won't Say I'm in Love

Hello!! I made this in less than a week and it's my first animatic ever, so go easy on me. I love these two characters, and I love how expansive Vivziepop's (and all her amazing animators) imagination goes and I just wanted to do something with that. I appreciate Hazbin Hotel very much, it puts me in a happy place :)).

Also!! Important. Aro/ace rep is super cool, especially coming from a series as notable as Hazbin and surrounding a character as important as Al. If it makes any sense, I'd never really want these two to be canon? I just ship these guys for fun, but I'd actually be bummed if Al was put in a relationship in canon. Radiodust is a super fun ship and I love these guys with all my heart, but never something I viewed as canon material. This video is just all fun hypotheticals, and me tying a story together with their character dynamics. While I do stan radiodust, I stan our god-tier aro/ace legend Al more.

It’s funny: normally in fandoms, if there’s ships that I don’t like, I kind of ignore their content. But with Hazbin Hotel, regardless of wether or not I like the ship, I see so much interesting content that took people lots of time! I thought I had to be obsessed with RadioDust to enjoy any RadioDust content, but I’ve seen lots of talented and fun videos ever since I’ve heard of it. Good job!

I love love LOVE that it was Al as Meg. It just feels so goddamn correct, even though most (including myself until I saw how well stuff like this works) would pick Angel to be our dear narrator but oh dear LORD. The drawings were cute and simple, the stories were easy to follow, and it all matched up really well with the lyrics. As a passion project for this lovely little ship of ours, I give this a 10/10. I love the fluff, the hurt, the dynamics, the utter fucking tenderness of it all. GAH the ending got me too. I'm holding back tears. This entire ship is not in official character for these two, but for the just-enough fanon characterization these doofuses get? This was so pitch perfect.

I freaking love this so so MUCH!! The way you drew Alastor and Angel look so good for the show and how the shadows have dimension against the characters and the grayscale of the palette, as well as Alastor's expressions and the transition between each thought!! And I adore how Alastor squirmed out of Angel's grasp when he regained consciousness because he's touch averse and how Angel leaves but not to abandon him and instead gets a stick so he can still help him and respect his boundaries!!! I really like the idea of this relationship both romantically and platonically because of how different Angel and Alastor are. Even if they don't become a couple, it's still a nice representation of how people with very different tastes and viewpoints can still learn to get along and respect each other, maybe even be really good friends. Especially when Alastor finds out what Valentino is doing to Angel.

Seeing Alastor struggle with the fact he's in love and trying to push away his feelings is so sad but I love how you had him come to terms with it in the ending-
