In the novel the writer has heavily hinted that both of them will end up together in the future, so cheers and celebrate guys 😁

It's ironic how he didn't even understand that she was confessing her feelings to him but subconsciously he confessed her back right away😍😭

She is an angel. This scene shows that she had truly forgiven him. The fact that she fell in love with him after he reflected and apologised and did stuff he could do repent shows how many people must have bullied her and not even felt guilty. Shoya did so many mistakes but I really hope fandom forgives him because he has suffered enough for what he did and he has taken actions towards what is right, apologised and did everything he could to protect her and make amends. Such a beautiful story!

Just want to this this hear since people are confused. She is deaf and therefore struggles to speak with the same amount of diction as a person who is not deaf.

The fact that she wanted to tell him by saying it and not signing it to him, shows that she really love him 🥺❤️

She’s strong for saying it twice! I had to send a whole letter to my crush… the day before he left 😭 I will never know his response

For the people who want context:

The girl is deaf, which is why she sounds a bit strange.
During their childhood, the boy severely bullied the girl because she was deaf but they met eachother again and started hanging out
The girl soon realizes that she has feeling for the boy.

I feel sorry for her, she tried her best to say, but the one who can't even understand ones feeling or try to understand doesn't deserves them😢❤️

A Silent Voice is a masterpiece that everyone should watch. It dives deep into the topics of bullying, forgiveness, self-hatred, etc. This film really was something that leaves an impact on you for years to come.

As much as we all wanted to yell at Shōya for this, remember the original movie was in Japanese. In Japanese, “I like/love you” is “好きだよ” (suki dayo). Also in Japanese, “beautiful moon” is “美月” (mitsuki).

For those who don’t know, Shōko is deaf, and can’t speak with the same clarity as people who aren’t. Her words can sound unclear or slurred, and Shōya took his best guess at what she said. Obviously he totally ignored her body language, but that can be chalked up to his anxiety about her not forgiving him. He might’ve actually known she said “好きだよ” but didn’t want to believe it because he figured it would be wishful thinking to think she would ever feel that way. I’m just guessing based on personal experiences.
