Ottoman-Turkish Traces: Komotini

Komotini located in the prefecture of Rodopi is one of the most precious cities in Greece with its cultural diversity, with traces of the Turkish community in Western Thrace on almost every street. Numerous mosques and fountains in Komotini, as well as monuments such as bridges and tekkes, point to the Turkish-Ottoman history and cultural richness in the region. Most of them have been protected by the dedication of the Turkish community in Western Thrace and have managed to survive to this day.
