The Atlantic hurricane season peaks on Sept. 10, and the current activity in the tropics reflect that fact.

Tropical Storm Paulette strengthened Monday morning, with Tropical Depression Rene on its heels in the far eastern Atlantic Ocean.

Paulette was named from Tropical Depression 17 that developed Sunday night and is currently located about 1,145 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands in the central Atlantic, according to the National Hurricane Center's latest update.

The storm is moving to the northwest at 8 mph

Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph, and it's not expected Paulette will strengthen much further. Later in the week, unfavorable conditions could weaken it somewhat.

Was the presenter an auctioneer in a past life? I'm sure his parents and friends can follow him, so not his bad. I had to slow the video down and go to closed caption without the sound LOL Live long and prosper young fellah.
