Your video was very helpful, thank you! It is unfortunate that Amazon makes this so difficult. A much easier way of course would be to simply check the balance of your physical gift card or e-gift card online instead of having to start an online chat with an Amazon rep where you're assuming that this person is honest. The obvious downside with providing your claim code with an Amazon rep is that they may steal it because anyone who has your claim code could simply take your money. The Amazon rep wouldn't even need to claim it themselves. They could conceivably give your claim code to a friend or even sell it at a discount.
