Notice how Robin says that the X mark seems familiar, because she was actually on the ship hiding when they put their arms up leaving alabasta

"I fear birds but I respect Owls."

Spoken like someone who knows to be afraid of Owls.

Loki has not only Doflamingo parallels, but also Kaido. Both Kaido and he said that they want to bring the biggest war ever to the world! Also, interesting thing. We now know that Hajrudin is Loki's brother. Remember how he wanted to get Ace's Flare Flare Fruit in Dressrosa, to become the King of all Giants? He wanted to become the Sun God to oppose the evil Sun God Loki, his brother.

Never forget Hajrudin and Gerd saved as much knowledge from Ohara as they could.

The double pages spreads and art in general was breathtaking.

One of my favorite parts of this chapter was learning that Jarul is still alive. Since he's now more than 400 years old, he may be old enough to have heard first hand accounts of the void century from his grandparents. In real world terms, it's like having a WW2 veteran tell you about his grandfather's service in the American Civil War.

I think Tekking and Brago hit it on the nose and I hope they're right: the fruit passed down in Loki's family is accidentally the real Gum Gum Fruit, but the giants are mistaking its power for the unawakened Nika Fruit. This is possible because neither fruit is in the encyclopedia and that could very well be the case because the Nika Fruit would be scrubbed out from history by the government altogether, and if the Gum Gum Fruit never leaves the country under the pretense that it's the Nika Fruit and THEY'D want to keep the world from pursuing it, then they'd have no written records of it either, or at the very least outside of Elbaf. Now if this is the case, it raises a couple huge questions: how did the fruits get mixed up, and did Shanks know about the switch up, so that's why he pursued it specifically upon it's capture by the government? And then was he planning to keep it for himself or return it to Elbaf? Ughhh I need to know.

Loki reveal made me combust with excitement

I’m torn between wanting Loki to be a trickster and manipulates Luffy into doing what he wants

OR Luffy is such a good judge of character/knows who the enemy is and who he’s meant to fight AND Luffy knows he’s not a bad guy :)

Ok, it's not that the giant's ship still had 2 days to get to Elbaph, they were confused because it's been 2 days and didn't already arrived when previously they got to Egghead in a day or less

1:21 the giants stopped sailing to elbaf to circle around and look for the strawhats, Rodo’s raven grabbed the ship and flew to elbaf

I really like the theory that Loki has the Fenrir Fruit. Fenrir is the wolf that chases the sun and eventually swallows it, which is what starts Ragnarok. I see a false sun god, chasing glory he can never attain is a great metaphor for him, assuming hes the villain of the arc.

I also love that Loki was set to be executed by crucifixion, since Odin crucified homself to the World Tree to gain his tremendous knowledge, so having the reference and inversion of that is very interesting for Loki's character.

I think Loki has the Jormungandr Fruit (World Serpent)

• Jormungandr is a son of Loki that holds the world in place by wrapping itself around the world and biting its tail and when Jormungandr is released Ragnarok (the end of the world) begins.

• When Jormungandr is released, it causes mighty waves, flooding the lands during Ragnarok.

• In chapter 129, Dorry and Brogy mentioned the 'Greatest Serpent' as the only thing that can withstand their attack. How would they know unless they had tried?

• The fruit that was passed on for generations in the Royal family is the Mythical Zoan Jormungandr. Loki stole the fruit cause he had ambitions to change the world for good by causing Ragnarok (the end of the world).

• During Nolands flashback, in chapter 287 Kashigami the giant snake was called the 'God of Sun'. This could be the reason why Loki thinks he's the Sun God.

• The Sun will bring forth a new dawn by ending the world of darkness. Maybe Loki wants to end the world of darkness and bring the Dawn, that's why he's calling himself the Sun God.

• Loki and Snakes: In Norse mythology, Loki was punished by being bound in a cave to suffer snake venom dripping onto his face until Ragnarok. In the manga, Loki has his tongue out like a snake.

• Loki the serpent stealing a forbidden fruit on the Adam Tree (Yggdrasil) kind of like the Serpent in the Garden of Eden.

• In Norse Mythology, when Loki writhes in pain it causes earthquakes. In chapter 1130 Luffy hears a 'roar' noise and the bridge shakes. Maybe that was Loki suffering his punishment.

• What we know for sure is;
1. The Devil Fruit is very powerful.
2. It has been in Elbaph for centuries.
3. It can cause the end of the world.
4. There's a Great Serpent in Elbaph that even Dorry and Broggy combined can't damage.

the subtle nods to Loki's actual mythology in Loki's character design are going crazy for me - the doflamingo-esque wrapping on his eyes (which could be a nod to his imprisonment for killing baldur, with the snake secreting venom from its fangs onto his face) and the horns on his helmet being a little nod to the marvel design. Him embracing his destiny to destroy the world (fate and prophecy being a major component of mythologies as a whole, but also taking the spotlight in the giants' culture as well -- like a character that's always there but can't be moved until they decide to make that move themselves) (also the sun god's conflict will be put in centerplace for this arc, having him clash with Luffy-Joyboy when that happens). I'm curious as to whether Oda is gonna have separate characters for his offspring like Jormungandr and Fenrir, or will he make a three-transformation mythical zoan fruit for that representation. It also begs the question as to whether Oda brings back the multi-arc sagas like alabasta and east blue, or will he go the Egghead route and incorporate more of the real world happenings while Elbaph is going on, because that island is Either way, I can see why he's taking the two weeks to research and regroup, he's gonna pop off this arc!

Just sharing that this is the FIRST chapter after I caught up with the manga. Had already been watching you arc reviews, and now I'm really looking forward to watching your reactions as chapter releases. Really love how insightful you are with your comments. Congratulations on the years of good work!
