I hope the injured people will fully recover. I hope this oil spill is promptly and properly cleaned up. I hope the ocean wildlife is cared for as well.

These vessels are equipped with sonar systems and infrared detectors. There's no way that they could collide into each other even at low visibility or foggy conditions. This was done deliberately.

What is so frustrating about this incident is that ALL of the UK news media are focusing on the oil tanker, about it's crew, about who owns and runs the vessel, who was the jet fuel destined for, who owned the jet fuel, what is it's purpose, how many explosions were on the vessel, how many crew members go out alive and on and on it goes and yet the ONLY thing being reported about the cargo ship is which country it is registered to (Portugal). The media have not gone into detail about the cargo ship as they have will the oil tanker. Makes me wonder why.

This was done on purpose visibility was clear no way they wouldn't of seen each other.

Captain of Stena says entire crew got to lifeboat and are safe

there can only be 2 reasons for the collision, the cargo ship was on autopilot due to an expected clear path way but the tanker was anchored in the wrong position. Both crews believing their ships positioning was safe and therefore not expecting problems, both crews went to sleep or did other duties that stopped them from carrying out lookouts but by the time the ships auto collisions alarms went off (they are required to have them by law if traversing in UK waters) it was to late. The other reason being the cargo ship intentionally hit the tanker because those on board knew it was jetfuel destined for the US military and they wanted to prevent that fuel getting to the US military. Captains of such ships will know about each other and what they carry.

How does this happen in 2025? It’s a OCEAN!

This is called prepping the battlefield. Someone wants America's air forces to run short of fuel.

Looks like the Solano was on autopilot with no-one watching over it. The Immaculate was anchored. I reckon someone is going to get fired for this!

Very stupid people on the Solong! No watch, no radar, just plow on at 16 knts. BLAMMO!
into the side of the tanker. Amazingly dumb mishap. Close your eyes as you drive 55 mph.
That kind of stupid.

"Collides with... " lame headline here, ABC. An anchored vessel impacted mid-ship by a cargo ship at 16 knot? COLLIDES...?

The ships must have anti collision device just like the trains. In modern era such incidents must not take place.
