It has been confirmed that the minimum income requirement for UK fiancee, partner and spouse visas will increase from £18,600 to £29,000 per annum on the 11th April 2024. It will further increase to around £34,500 at an unspecified time later in 2024 and eventually to around £38,700 by early 2025. The new £29,000 income threshold will apply only to first-time visa applicants which means that existing UK partner and spouse visa holders and those who apply before the new rules come into effect in April will not be required to meet the increased threshold. It is expected that those who wish to rely solely on savings to meet the financial requirement will need to boost their bank balance from current £62,500 to £88,500.
