Marc: get used to seeing the body as a structure made up of 3d volumes.
I’ll never look at my girlfriend’s body the same way again.

To some beginners watching this:

If this doesn't work for you, fear not. Almost every artist has a different way of drawing this structure and the one most comfortable for you will come in time. I recommend looking at other good artists (Like Ethan Becker, RossDraws...) for reference. However, this is a great base if you're just starting out.

I know you've done similar videos akin to this one before, with anatomy as the subject, but I have to say I respect you going over them multiple times and in detail. It helps out more than you know.

Something that I always have had a hard time doing is drawing characters interact with one another. Making it look like there's impact between the characters. Idk if there are specific tips for something like this. Anyway, great video! I felt like this really helped even after watching both your construction videos.

even though I'm part of your Art School program I absolutely love watching your videos. They're a good reminder of the basics and they still have some very useful tips! ALWAYS! (also.... the "butt" part was my favourite. I'm an adult really.)

I do have trouble drawing 3D figures in perspective. I know it's technically just shapes like boxes and cylinders, but I do have trouble with the strange shapes like the head in different angles, so can you break it down even more and give us more tips and tricks to drawing foreshortened figures in super foreshortened angles?

I had neglected to draw the puppets so my anatomy was awful. I was so disappointed that even quit to draw for some time, but now I'm really inspired by your video again. Thank you

Marc, you're just a freaking guru of drawing! I'm a part of the Art School, but I also regularly watch you videos here for a good charge of motivation and inspiration (and, of course, for learning a trick or two in advance). Thank you for everything you do and for sharing your experience and right mood with the others, it is priceless! As to the the topic video, I was amazed how actually easy it can be with some effort put in it. I've been struggling with sketching out some basic anatomy for quite a long time. Hopefully, now with all the tips and examples, it will get much easier. Thank you again for an amazing content and explaining things!

For about a week I've been having trouble with my anatomy. I could get the general idea down but I couldn't seem to make it "natural".
This video came at the most perfect time! Thank you!

Insanely helpful! Sometimes, seeing other artists’ simplified anatomy is very overwhelming and left unexplained if looking at it from a picture. Knowing the forms of the body and how they change between male and female after just 10 minutes is very useful. Thank you.

Marc, you're a life saver.

I've been doing art since I was 5, so, about 20 years now. I've been using a detrimentally simplified structure for so long. Just yesterday, I was searching for this exact advice, and could not find it. This is going to change everything, it may even spring me out of this long slump I've been in.

I've got commissions that need completing, and my clients have been patient so far. I hope they'll give me just a bit more time to practice this technique, so their art will look even better.

This is fantastic, your years of experience and practice really show through when you're able to construct shapes in prespective this easily, truly inspiring stuff!

you really nail the simplicity side of anatomy. It makes it very digestible and less discouraging to learn. thank you for helping us on our art journey.

I really appreciate your videos. I am teaching a figure drawing class at a high school and your videos have helped me articulate some of these concepts to my students. Thank you for being such a generous soul and sharing your talent and hard work.

I've seen so many tutorials but your tutorials are so far the most simple and useful. Thank you ♡

Been going through your channel for the past week or so and I feel like my art has already improved immensely during those few days! Thank you so much for putting all this amazing advice on here for (almost :P) free! You're making me want to finally become an illustrator when I'm just about to graduate in a science...

Brilliant! This is exactly the video I would have needed when starting out! Even now, that I have at least somewhat of a grasp on anatomy, I feel like it still made me see things more clearly!
