I wish they would have put a separate shutter door that is solely there for sensor protection and not the actual functioning shutter instead. I have that turned off on mine because I know if I engage it, my toddler will find a way to put her finger through it!

Got mine today… enjoying it. I’m coming from an a9 and I’ve had all the a7R bodies and a a7IV.. the A1 is what closest reminds me of the a9.. they have a similar firing pattern when I’m shooting bracketed photos for real estate.. damn fast.. the body of the A1 feels more solid than the a7IV but lighter. It’s definitely slowing down my poor little 13” MacBook Pro M1 exporting light room files. Looking forward to playing with the 8k tomorrow and glad I got an 80gb cfast card and reader.. no problem clearing the buffer.

THX for your content!I also have a A 1...But you are using the mechanical shutter for demonstration the 30 fps!Thats completely wrong!It works with the electronic shutter and this one is silence...you also need the right lense which support that 30 fps.By the way the mechanical gives you 10 fps...Dont worry, its a great camera..Cheers!

The AF of the R5 is as good as the AF on the Sony A1 ?

Thanks for the insights! I am curious, how do you like the A1 + 50mm 1.2 combo? Have you tried the 50mm GM on another Sony body? Do you think an A1 is necessary for precision focus at f/1.2?

Hi Andy, what are the native ISO’s for Sony A1. Similar like A7s3 which is 640 and 12800.?
