The "choreographed" forms you speak of do the exact same thing you say wingchun does....they teach a set of skills i hate it when people dis forms and their purpose when they dont underatand them

I can tell he was influenced by Bruce Lee. Because he doesn't understand what the so-called traditional forms are for. They are not for the 1 in a million chance someone might attack you in the way that is set up in the form. The routine of it is to build conditioning and being able to do the application naturally. I found to my surprise that I could utilize applications from forms into improvised sparring. Every part of a form, the continual practice, gets you conditioned physically to be able to do the applications without self consciousness. After that, you can make up other forms with them or improvise movements in the moment with them. Which is something Ng Mui did. I am much more in tune and influenced by Ng Mui, as it pertains to wing chun.
