If you live in Britain, and also Europe you have every reason to love and respect the men who fought in this battle. Without them it's highly unlikely we wouldn't be here today. The fact remains that due to the actions of these men in the air we are allowed the freedom to enjoy life without oppression and tyranny. God bless every one of them who fought and gave their lives. The Battle of Britain was won before the Luftwaffe's first attack. The visionary Lord Trenchard along with his staff including the Immortal Dowding had the advantage of radar, which they embraced as the weapon of the future. As a result, the outnumbered RAF were always ready to intercept the Luftwaffe's attacks on the UK.

Just been (again) to the Spitfire and Hurricane Museum at Manston. So amazing to see and touch parts of planes that flew (and, sadly, crashed) in the battle.

Britons, Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, French, Dutch, Belgian, Aussies, all sorts of people fought in the Battle of Britain and the amount of people from different backgrounds showed how important Britain was to foreign and domestic people.

My Grandmother says she would listen to the planes and try to hear Rolls Royce engines because those were spitfires.

The bravery and tenacity of British fighter pilots is legendary for good reason.

My great uncle Campbell Murray was a R.A.F. fighter and he fought in the Battle of Britain. He was shot down but he survived the war.
