These are all good ideas. My father passed away from cancer 20 years ago at the age of 59. It was really hard for the whole family. My mom and dad had been married 42 years. My dad had 2 feather pillows he slept with. My mom started using his pillows. A feather would come out every once in a while. My mom started putting the feathers in a clear Christmas ornament. Through the years she has given a family member a ornament with the feathers. She wrote on the ornament wings from heaven. It has been a sweet and fun memory.

I have been making my kids & grandkids new ornaments every year . When my children finally settled into their own homes I gave them all their ornaments. At that time they were in their mid 20's, now 52 & 48. Their trees are very full !

We give each of our children an ornament every year so that when they leave home, they have enough for their own tree. We had a special tree upstairs for Momma to put her ornaments and a fun kids tree that the kids would decorate with theirs. Each ornament had to do with the previous year, ie when they got their drivers license we got a car ornament, or one of them loved soft serve ice cream from a specific place so the ornament was a soft serve ice cream cone. We’d reminisce each year and giggle while we enjoyed hot cocoa and decorating.🎄

These are all beautiful ideas Shannon. I love them all. I can’t pick a favourite cos they are all gorgeous. The ones you did for your daughters are very sweet as would be the one you do for your son. I have a lot of those small transfers that I got last year but never used them cos I was sick from December to February. My kids got an ornament every year that represented a milestone (e.g. a ballerina when taking ballet class). The year my youngest was born, Hallmark started a series of angels, so she got one of those for 25 years. When the kids got married, their ornaments went with them.

Great ideas. My family's favorite Christmas tradition is candy making for gifts. We make filled candies, fudge, chocolate covered cherries, etc. The candies make wonderful gifts and the recipients seem to enjoy them.
