The Singapore government made it compulsory for everyone to install an app or hold a physical token that's Bluetooth-enabled.

Every time we enter a building or shop, we have to "check in" to the location. All data is deleted within 2 months, unless there's an overlap with an infected person's path.

The government doesn't use the data to track where the people go on a micro level, but instead use the Bluetooth data to help the individual remember where/when they've been, where manual contact tracing takes over.

In theory a possible application, but too many people (25percent) will never instal an app because of privacy and what they want to hide.. no matter the consequences. Human nature. My humble opinion.
