Lisa was used to being the centre of attention in her world as daughter of Elvis. She had a hard time sharing Michael’s attention with so many others and felt ignored and unimportant.. “one of a crowd”. Debbie on the other hand understood that very well & gave Michael his space. Lisa threatened divorce just so he would know she was important.. she alludes to this in her song “Do you know who I am?” she just wanted him to say she mattered to him, to choose her over his entourage, so she made him choose, “me or them” but MJ was in hospital & tired of games by then & let her go. As he says in xscape, “how is it my fault if she gambled and lost”. Maybe they were not meant to be together but the real love, connection & feelings they had for each other will never die. It really was the only real relationship Michael ever knew.
