Don and Cecil will discuss the methodology most commonly used with F# called “Functional-First Programming”. We’ll chat about the conceptual foundations of Functional-first programming and how you can transition to incorporate object programming and imperative programming where necessary.

We’ll look at how F# approaches topics such as Domain modelling, Object programming, Collection Programming, Transformation, and how that plays out in architectures such as the “Elmish” way of implementing web UIs with F# code targeting Javascript, or mobile/desktop UIs targeting .NET. Along the way you’ll learn about F# language features like computed list expressions, full-stack programming with SAFE-stack and libraries like FSharp.Data.Adaptive.

F# and .Net in general NEEDS type classes, higher kinded polymorphism and n-rank types! And functions should be first-class and lightweight, not needing to be compiled to .NET classes.
