sushi nakazawa dc - $300 super omakase experience 🍣

K & I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary at Sushi Nakazawa -- Michelin star restaurant in Washington, D.C. We wanted to travel somewhere together for our 1 year, but since his birthday is also coming up soon... we decided to splurge on a nice dinner instead. When we got to the restaurant, they offered us a super omakase tasting menu, which included wagyu and truffle, caviar, and a pre-course set. They source their fish globally, with a focus on Japan. In this video, I share what it looks like while the chefs are preparing & serving the food and our overall experience. :)

I just ate here literally today and regretted not taking more pictures! I also got the super omakase. Sushi Nakazawa was a much different experience than the Edomae I had in Tokyo a few years back (Isana Sushi Bar in Roppongi, highly recommended), but nonetheless amazing and in fact better on a few fronts, and it's amazing that I can get proper Edomae so close to home (I live two hours away in Virginia). Thank you so much for posting this! The dinner of course changes based on availability, but with your video being so close in time to my visit, I had an almost identical meal (the only difference I noticed was we had circle wafers instead of flower-shaped ones), and I will send people this video to better explain my experience! Thanks again!
