For those who don't know :Obanai Iguro was given birth from a rich family. Obanai was the only boy who was born after 370 years ago. So his family worshipped a snake demon who devoured a lot of people from their family. So when the people who were unlucky and good for nothing they were sent to the demon and were slaughtered by the demon, but who were lucky was left. Obanai was lucky but it did not mean he had to give his blood to the demon. When obanai turned four he was sent to give his blood to the demon. The snake demon devoured him by piercing into his mouth and devoured lot of blood and obanai was sent to the cage after he gave blood to the snake demon. So in that cage a snake entered his cage friendly. Obanai knew that the snake would'nt harm him. When obanai was left out of the cage the demon wanted to slaughter him even though he was lucky. The demon even ate his family and soon the blame was put on him. But when the snake demon came to kill him Shenjoru Rengoku(Kyojuro Rengoku's father) came and killed the snake demon. The snake was very friendly to him, he soon named his snake Kaburamaru. He was then trained by shenjuro and became demon slayer corps. He was so strong he made it to the hashira level. Since that snake demon cut open his mouth, and he wore the mask.

When he was a kid his family admired a snakelike demon, and he wast the first boy in the family for 350 years, so the demon liked him and didn't immediately kill him like with the rest. But the demon made his family cut his mouth to make it match a snake's mouth. And then he ran away and was almost killed by the snake demon when the former flame Hashira saved him

For those who don’t know obanai was the first boy born in his village in 370 years. And the people were worshipping a snake demon for protection and wealth by sacrificing their baby’s. The snake demon was surprised by obanai being a boy and the snake demon told them to fatten him so she could have a better taste when she ate him. The reason he wears that mask is to cover his mouth that was cut by his people to match the snake demon’s look. Then Shinjuro Rengoku former flame pillar or Kyojuro Rengoku’s dad.
