when I play toplane I usually pull the first wave so that the enemy minion wave is situated right outside their tower so that the wave is slow pushing towards me

u can even deny 2 before 5 seconds if u take aggro of the wave before it collides and then drop aggro and they will all foxus 1 minion which is way faster then 5 second but you will trade some hp for its mostly worth if u have dorans sheild or high regen champs like mudndo garen or ww which can give u huge advantages or if u run blade then the first is better unless the enemie laners is a losing one in the first 3 levels and the hp wont matter like darius into garen :D

Walk in front of the first 3 minions, aggro them, then walk into the bush closest to the enemy tower, now all 3 melees will hit the first of your melee minions at the same time. Kills your melee minion before this method can do it.

My favorite thing to do as Ryze is deny minion waves. As my minions approach, I ult and drop them behind the enemy's turret. They die between turrets, the laner is confused and has to walk back to try and snag one or two, meanwhile I get to ward and try and push their tower.
Let's just admit it, Ryze ults are pretty lame 90% of the time, this is just a fun way to keep yours on cooldown and deny some farm for the enemy.

the amount of times I snowballed my lane with level 2 all in is insane, that's really useful

The best way that this strat is implemented is when you stand for 2-3 second with the minion, taking the aggro, so that the first melee minion on your side will be targeted by all of the minions, saw that strat in LCK and LPL and been doing that ever since.

And then you proceed to build a freeze for the enemy, setting yourself up for an easy gank.

u can also take aggro and then go in a bush

better way to do that: pull the wave, so not only they will lose minions, but also the wave will slow push into you and you will be able to set up a freeze

interesting info, I was doing that the past couple of weeks, but my reasoning was that i can get ahead in wave damage w/o missing on the damage that minion would do, giving me a level advantage if the enemy leashes too much
