I too, get excited over shiny, new, sharp, high quality kitchen knives. Too excited, I have a habit of forgetting to give myself ample space and time to get used to a larger or smaller knife than what I am used and have nearly lost a fingertip but was saved by the noble sacrifice of half a fingernail more times than I care to admit.
