For those wondering how culturally accurate this movie is so far: just from the trailer I already see lots of accurate colombian cultural references. The sombrero voltiao (a very colombian specific hat), Carlos vives singing in it, the location is the Valle del Cocora (Cocora valley) in the department of Quindio, and the architecture of the house is typical of the coffee region, of which Quindio is a part of, the animals (capybara, jaguar, toucan) are also found in Colombia and are recognizable national animals, I see traditional dresses, I see the accordion (key instrument for Vallenato music, found in Colombia), I see a lot of mestizos and many skin colours (from white to black and everything in between) which accurately represents the population of the country!
The guy who delivers the gift sounds to me like he has a bit of a Mexican accent in English instead of a Colombian accent in English and I would venture to say that in their efforts to show Colombian elements they're showing elements from many different regions of the country although the story takes place in a very specific region of the country. But even then, I would much rather have the movie showing colombian elements from many different regions within our country than saying it's colombia and see people eating tacos, burritos or hearing mariachi or tango or who knows, Flamenco LOL
In conclusion, I'd say they did their research! Fellow colombians, what did I miss or what did I get wrong here, I don't want to create misinformation about our beautiful country <3

Me encanta! Finally representation of Colombia and it's mix! It's diversity from the Caribbean, to the Amazon jungle and the coffee region. A mix of its peoples. In a single family we can have all the color and textures. To me it represents Colombia.

Basically the girl looks like Moana, she behaves like Rupanzel from Tangled, the locations are like those in Luca and the look and feel is like Coco.
Tangled, Moana, Coco and Luca combo is Encanto.

My theory:it would start off with the beginning of the family's gifts and later goes on to mirabel, who doesn't have a gift. We see mirabel trying to find her gift later on. The old woman we saw in the trailer would find out why mirabel doesn't have a gift, mirabel will get a gift and bless the old woman or it would be at a special party

As someone who wears glasses, I think it will mean a lot to children to see a character who wears glasses too :)

Apparently this comes out on my birthday if IMDB's UK release date is to be believed 😘. You know how certain Disney films just "click" instantly with you? Tangled and Moana were like that for me, and based on what I've seen so far, this is another one about to enter my favourites. Have probably watched this trailer more than any previous Disney one already.
