I breakdown what colleges prefer to see on applications, AP classes or college level dual enrollment, now that universities have gone test optional.

Thanks Koodoos for responding to my request. It is very informative and insightful. Although I am currently a freshman at Gettysburg College, PA, I constantly watch your videos so that I can better assist my younger sister, who is better positioned to get into Ivies and Stanford few years from now. Keep up the good work!

Sounds like hypocrisy and nonsense. If AP was actually so superior to actual dual enrollment courses, then why do these Admissions Officers refuse to require that these AP Students report their actual AP Test Grades?

My rising senior goes to a high school that offers 15+ AP classes, a full IB diploma and running start (DE). After a school shooting/death on her hs campus sophomore year she chose to do full time DE and will graduate hs with her AA (3.7 college gpa after 3 quarters/45 credits as of rn). She isn’t a good ‘test taker’ so DE vs AP was the way to go along with the factor of not feeling safe on her hs campus. And she is obviously doing well in her college courses. Will admissions counselors view the choice to do DE instead of AP/IB as the choice of less rigor? Any suggestions on how to showcase the difference in her hs gpa (3.4) vs her college gpa (3.7)?

How does diversity work in schools that claim they "never consider race as an admissions factor"?

How bad does it look if you drop an AP calculus course to instead do pre-calc12 and calculus 12 as two separate courses? Just to keep the GPA high and not risk a drop in my GPA…

Great Video. I realize that I am a year late but better late than never. I am a parent of an 8th grader. The local Public High School is already started with 9th grade class selection. There is a chance he may go to private school. I do not know today what colleges he will be applying to to ask, but I believe my son has what it takes to get to an "A" university, however most of the dual enrollment classes would be held at a community college. Would the juice be worth the squeeze if that is the case. I hear stories all the time of kids starting their freshmen year with 20+ credits, what I do not hear is what colleges they were accepted too. Also do private high schools do dual enrollment(as in free, like the public schools) or would he have to go rogue and we flip the bill?

Is taking college classes on actual college campus during my senior year boost my chance of getting into top universities?

I am an international student from a public school that don't have AP or IB curriculum. I could take the SAT once and scored 1330 (750 Math and 580 EBRW) From TOEFL, I scored 94( Reading 27) Should I submit my SAT to selective schools.

Does applying undeclared increase your chance of getting into a school especially a UC?
