If you are a beginner developer the simpler syntax in preview in JDK 21 is very useful.

Regarding the remarks about the lts versions. Sadly our red hat supplied builder images are only supplied with the lts versions. We can't move just up to the next version. I mean we were not super long on Java 17. We went Java 17 with spring boot 2.7 as preparation for spring boot 3. It's awesome that we can now directly go to 21.

I have it installed and ran my Swing GUI programs with it. I was running Java 19 before this. My jpg images appear to pop up slightly faster and overall, I think this version works faster.

Good, but in the real world, speaking realistically, it won't be soon before we can use the newer version. Most companies still use older Java versions, and the transition involves not only updating the apps but also training the teams for the new versions as well.

this is great. but do IDEs / or java LSPs like eclipse jdtls etc.. support 21? When I last checked with the early access 21, this support was lacking and so IDE wont compile it if I use 21's fetures like string templates/interpolation.
