Linear Equations by Substitution

This is a video about Linear Equations by Substitution Method. There are two variables that will be solved by this method.

To solve this linear equation by substitution method you will first need to identify equation 1 and equation 2.

You will then select from equation 1 or 2 and then you will solved x in terms of y.
To do this, just transpose the term with the y variable on the left and transpose any numerical coefficient of the variable x.

This will then be your equation number 3. Substitute equation 3 to equation 2 and solve for the value of y. After solving and finding the value of y, substitute the value to equation 1.

The value of y will then be substituted to equation 1 and the value of x will be computed.

You will now have the answers for the x and y variables.
