Naturalist, physician, state legislator, rifleman, planter, and hunter, Dr. Henry John Peck (1803 - 1881), of Sicily Island, Louisiana, wrote articles on the habits and the hunting of deer, black bear, panther, and wild hogs in the lower Mississippi Valley of the 1840s. Interesting, I've been trying to research exactly where the biggest populations of hogs are in MS. Any insight?
