External Affairs Minister, Dr S Jaishankar met his UK counterpart, Foreign Secretary David Lammy and held bilateral talk. At the meeting with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, EAM Dr S Jaishankar said, “Delighted to welcome you to India on your first official visit in that capacity...I do believe that our relationship is a very important relationship and enormous possibilities are there. How we explore those possibilities, how we realise our potential in a more meaningful way, is one of the tasks that I look forward to undertaking with you. We are both countries which have a big global presence in different ways. So I think it’s also important that India and the UK work together on global issues and on global platforms. So, that too I hope would be part of our conversation.” While UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy said, "...It is wonderful to be back in India, in your company. Let me say that I am here very much with the blessings and good wishes of my leader and PM Keir Starmer...There are so many ways in which our two countries have shared interests when we look at the world, record growth here in India and our new government is committed to growth and there is much that we can do together. Very pleased today to launch the Tech and Security Initiative in indication of the future opportunity in AI, Quantum, Biotech, Climate and Carbon, Health, so many areas that we are able to work together. Our innovators, our scientists, our entrepreneurs, our business and industry, our public sector are able to work together and partner...There are many ways in which we see the world in the same place. I also salute the leadership that India has taken on the Climate Emergency and the race to Clean Energy, it's extraordinary what has been achieved in such a short space of time. That is another area in which this new government is committed..."

Don't give FTA unless it disproportionately favours India. UK is desperate with the hangover of "Raj romantics"

Respect to India for not laughing in the face of David Lammy, who is a laughing stock in the UK as he cannot say what a woman is and believes men can have a cervix.

We shouldn't be swayed by the sweet talking diplomats. How they deal with Sikh extremists, muslim fundamentalists, etc in their country, should dictate our future relationship. Be wary of the conniving brits.
