AEW All Elite Wrestling vs WWE: Which is more like WCW?

Many people believe AEW is basically WCW 2.0. They are backed by a billionaire (Tony Khan) who owns a sports team (Jacksonville Jaguars), a member of the Rhodes family is heavily involved (Cody), they have a TV deal with TNT.

However, you can also make the case that WWE has turned into their competition they bought out nearly 20 years ago.

The buck(no pun intended) stops with Tony Khan he has final say on everything. Who gets hired, who wins-who loses, who is in what feud. The Bucks, Tony Khan and Cody, hell even Jericho all said as much in multiple interviews shortly after AEW was announced at the Jacksonville rally. It's Tony's company, if you want to go by a WWE analogy Tony is Vince and Cody, Kenny and the Bucks are Triple H.

WWE feels like WCW in late 1998 where the wheels were falling off but they were still successful. AEW only feels like WCW in that they are the WWE competiton and are on TNT but the product doesn't feel anything like WCW.

I tend to disagree with the comparison with AEW with the Attitude Era. Which was something Cody was saying he wanted to kill. I would be more willing to compare AEW to the Early years of ECW. A young company with something to prove. AS for WWE I would compare it to the Last Few years of WCW when it was starting to lose it shine. At least that is how I feel. Also What AEW is lucky to have which ECW did not have. Is an ownership that has deep pockets. Which ECW never had!

First off, you compared WWE to WCW for its negatives. All you compared AEW to WCW for is its semantics. Kind of a slanted view there. Brock Lesnar has actually become very entertaining now, using the briefcase as a boom box and being like 2004 champion while feuding with Eddie. There's no guarantee that Brock's cash in is successful. Hey I spent money on the 2015 Royal Rumble knowing Roman Reigns was going to win. It was entertaining nonetheless.


No Mike, you can't say YET...Gronk isn't winning the WWE Title. Stop being a shill. What if Blake Bortles wins the AEW Title? That's more likely than anything else.

Today's WWE is just like WCW at the end only even worse. At least WCW tried to produce a legitimate wrestling product. WWE much like WCW has a bloated roster full of young talent that they won't or don't care to give a proper push it creative control to. Much like WCW the WWEs story lines suck and are way too kid oriented.
