Designing a Crypt - D&D/OSR

This is the last video of the week, requested by a few of you guys. This video is a guide to one of the ways I create small, simple dungeons for my players to explore. These are perfect as random encounters, and can be used to add more depth to your campaign setting. I do not encourage these crypts to be used as full adventures, but you can definitely expand upon the system and its ideas in order to achieve greater results. This system for random crypt generation is a part of the Barrowmaze Module by Greg Gillespie.

If you guys are digging the videos, make sure you like the video and subscribe to stay up-to-date with my latest content. We're getting so close to 1000 subscribers and I'm honestly so excited about this milestone. I've been wanting to run a D&D channel for a few years now but I've not had the motivation or the courage to go for it until now. I've got so many great ideas for 2023, I do hope you guys decide to join me for the journey. Thanks & Merry Christmas!

EDIT: I've uploaded the crypt I made in the video to Imgur. If you guys want to use it for your games, it's in the video description so feel free to help yourselves, mi casa, su casa.

I set up a "Valley of the Kings" hex in my world with Tombs and Crypts a plenty. The most humorous player action I ever got was when they went in and found a pair of boots against a wall, soles out. Took them a minute to figure out it was falling block trap that had squashed a tomb raider before them. Fore warned Tombs are not a safe place.

Great to see that you’re using older source material in a modern and inventive way in line with the 5e system.
Keep up the awesome videos!

6:55 We have gone to 36th level multiple times over the decades, the game osr's are based on did go past expert after all. And what better place to find a Lich than a crypt? I'd question the sanity of the pcs under tenth level trying that one.

Have you considered adding a portal to the underworld in said crypt?
Shadowy version of the "real" world later used as a call back when they need to find an entrance to that plane.
Sorry just odd thoughts.

Hexes are great! Hexes are cool!
Use hexes! Don't be a fool!
Hexes are in! Squares are out! Hexes have a lot to shout about!
Besides that, squares are just . . .
. . . well, square. 😂
