Wait? Did you just upload the most valuable video on YouTube? 🤔 And did I have a cameo in it? 😂 I was just telling Kim I need to review video labs and start nailing this when I saw this pop up. 👊

Even in let’s play realm, why channel like Game Grumps took off…while *cough* many others maybe didn’t do so hot

They’ve always been story tellers and always been a hook for show, even if don’t care about game they’re playing you tune in so don’t miss some funny story, and sometimes a emotionally resonant one.

My channel on other hand we didnt try to blow up(the channel existence always been a by product of me working in media and marketing jobs, ie know how to edit and enjoy doing it with my friend so why not) even but we’d pantomime the humour of a channel like GG without presenting authentic stories etc, and well, proof is in the pudding.

Of course I’m ignoring reality, my own channel may never have taken off simply because it was never noticed and when we did launch it few years back now, the let’s play scene was highly competitive and already had more than enough established channels for people to pick from. Also our audio was garbo for years so doesn’t help haha

I’d say even tho it is formulaic too, that is still very subjective what working with as by definition someone’s emotional response to what saying is subjective and will vary greatly between demographics. I’ll also say, tho it’s newer “trend” of advice, this has simply always been true going back some oldest and most popular channels.

Great tips, Tim. Thanks a lot. For those who have Educational Channels, like myself, how am I supposed to tell a story when my videos are about teaching (English) .
I have not figured out a way to do this yet. Any advice would be much appreciated.
