I have mixed feelings about this. The voice itself is okay for Kinich but the tone is way too lively. The old VA's slight monotone way of speaking the lines was perfect for Kinich's character and personality, showing that he's more a loner and keeps boundaries but is still capable of friendship and has feelings, just struggles to express them. The new tone compared to his character sounds like he should be smiling but is forcing himself not to for no reason 😭

One of the things I liked about Kinich was his deadpan expressions that is the complete opposite of Ajaw. I love the sort of dry humor that comes from their interactions and tandem because he’s so nonchalant about it and literally has no energy. If he becomes more animated and expressive, I think it just won’t have the same effect anymore.

As much as I like the chill, casual VAs in Genshin, this voice doesn’t really match Kinich’s character. He actually sounds more like Sethos now imo 😂. I think most of us could agree that he’s supposed to have a deeper, more introverted tone instead of this more relaxed vibe

I stopped playing genshin a bit ago, but WHY DID THEY MASSACRE MY SWEET BABY BOY! Kinich was one of my favourite Natlan characters (not the design tho) and they do this to him? No offence to Jacob, but I prefer the old va, John.

Yeah it's.. Not good. No offense to the VA, I like his other works, but it just doesn't fit Kinich. Oh well, I hope Hoyo can sort out the VA problem without having to replace the whole cast.

Kinich's character is supposed to be firm, cold and straightforward but also caring. I dislike the new voice but I don't hate it, and I don't mean any hate to the new VA considering how much this community can pack a punch when complaining, but there are times when a certain voice just doesn't match a characters behavior or by physical appearance, now I'm only saying this because the overall difference between the old and new voice for Kinich is not even close lmao
