Class of 2020, Here’s To You

How I can best lead and encourage the people around me as we figure our way through such an unknown and scary time in our country’s history? Unfortunately, I can’t cure the coronavirus. BUT, I can (with help from my girl @ggracestewartt ) write a song to recognize the seniors who might be struggling during this time. My heart is with you all and I hope that this can be my part.

I first heard this when my mom was playing it will I was doing dishes. I had to stop to let out all my emotions. I am also a senior. I was on a cruise for our actual spring break. The day I came home, everything got canceled. They haven't canceled our graduation but they have been talking about. This song is helping me so much right now. I have been listening to it on repeat. Thank you so much Abby for gifting the senior class with this. I hope it all works out for you in the end.

Wow. So amazing to see you utilizing the talents God has given you to spread encouragement and perspective to us fellow seniors in such an unprecedented time. I'm also an Indiana senior, and really related on a number of levels. It's so ironic how much we take for granted during the year, and don't realize how much many of those aspects impact us until they are taken away. How many times I was just wishing to be finished and off to college, but suddenly regret the lost times with others around me that I didn't utilize while I had the chance. I'm a homeschooled senior. This whole thing is a bit different for me. Being homeschooled, I never expected to go to Prom or have a true graduation ceremony.


My wingman and best friend asked me to join him at his Prom while I was sick way earlier this year. It brightened my whole day. We made so many plans that day to go out to eat and have a sleepover the night before. He got a tux that made him feel euphoric and I got a suit that made me feel euphoric. We were so excited, then it got canceled.
My co-op was going to have a graduation ceremony. Something I never thought was possible until their first ceremony last year. Just for it to be up in the air as to whether we're doing it or not. Leaning towards not.


So many things I never thought I'd get to do, dangled in front of me as possibilities, just to be yanked away in an instant.


I'm still extremely upset, but this song is helping. You've been given a gift, darlin. Thank you for sharing. <3

This is such a beautiful song! wow, I’m in the class of 2020 going through the tough changes but it makes us grow to become people who can tell the stories of entering the worst times in history and now graduating through a pandemic. 🥺 sending prayers and love to all senior in the class of 2020. I remember how senior year had drove us all nuts. But, we would do it all over again. Prom and grad night were definitely great rewards. But nothing felt better then finally, walking the stage/field to get that diploma. after working so hard for four straight years. I Pray with all my heart, that they find a way to do something special for all of you 2020 seniors.
